‘I’ll Go To The Rock” – The Builders Rejected

“I’ll go to the rock, the builders rejected. When the earth all around me, is sinking sand, on Christ the solid rock, I’ll stand. When I need shelter, I’ll go to the rock ..’ I know, he is able. I’ll go to the rock ..’ You can go to the rock” – Preachers Wife, Soundtrack – ‘I’ll Go To The Rock .

I find the life and legacy of Whitney Houston a fascination. A great tale of caution. No matter, how much, you want to find glory, you need to first, find it, inside of yourself. The glory of love. That’s the story of love, the greatest, one of all – she, taught us about.

Maybe because,  she was the first pop star, I ever heard, who inspired me, to become, a singer. Shortly after – I heard Helen Baylor, and I told God, when I grow up, thats what want to sound like.

Sometimes I say I will call – but then I forget. Sometimes, I say won’t cry – then I do. At times, I say I will pray – but forget. I even say, sometimes, I will let go – and fail miserably ..’

Mercy, I am not perfect, and I am no angel. But, then again, I may be, rightly just, compared – to many self professed saints, knights, or monarchs. Love is the only ace that truths. God!

My scepticism keeps me grounded, and feet, firmly rooted in love. I’m sure, I’m not the only one. I remember Mary Magdalene and Jesus. A perfect marriage. A perfect relationship. The perfect friendship.

When Jesus saw her, he knew he saw the truth, and when Mary Magdalene (the whore), saw Jesus – she knew – she saw the light. Love; lights the way. Deep truths! Because, ‘The truth is always, in love’. The truth, and the light, became one. Mercy! Thats why, I tell them – Jesus’s best friend, was a whore.

Mercy, I am not perfect, and I am no angel. Only a fool, would look at a  human being and call them an angel. I used to, until the harsh reality of life, set in, and I realised, that, that was in fairy tales, and story books – were happily ever after, lives. Not, in the, real world.

Not even, the Pope is – perfect, but he gives great hope ..’ – Anthony Everest

So, I’ll rather declare my imperfections, so more, of the grace and glory of God, could, abound upon me – to make me whole ..’ Less I do it, my own way, and falter – over, and over, again..

I said tonight, just because it looks right, does not mean, its right.

How right is that for a fact!

I’ll go to the rock ..’ the builders rejected. When the earth all around me, is sinking sand, on Christ the solid rock, I’ll stand. When I need shelter, I’ll go to the rock ..’ I know, he is able. I’ll go to the rock ..’ You can go to the rock”.

Even, paradventure, I stumble – I can rise – upon a solid rock, on which, I will always build my fortress. You can too; if you believe. The onus of my, (your), thinking, is on the rise, and, not the fall. Thats where my victory stands. Thats my testimony, and my stance. My Faith.

Hey, Jesus – don’t pass me by! “I’ll go to the rock, the builders rejected.
