Carol asked me – ‘How did last nite go? was it fun?’
Nope. Drab – Never got on and my Yanky friends where not impressed as it was their last night. They left, initially, un beknown, to me, but l lured them back – excitedly, in high spirits. Seriously – poor organisation, was an operative word. If I reviewed this on my blog – it will be unforgivable. Now that I have decided to mention, it – I’ve withheld a particular name and venue on this occasion, as this is not just an isolated case. Happens here and there.
Sometimes its great – but occasionally you get dross; like this. Worst – was favouritism. It’s shambles. Why have a singers – name list when you won’t follow it. People turn up an hour before the show – to sign up, and you ignore – them and call your friends on, when they casually walk in. It is disrespectful.
Not only did those people spend their resources there; spending their valuable time and money, before their friends arrived, they also are important, too – and could choose to spend their time and money elsewhere. Also, singers charged an entrance fee is dire. Pure slavery. So, artistes are effectively – paying to play. Now, this is just wrong on all levels. Charge the punters, but don’t charge the artistes – bringing the free entertainment to you.
Also, some of the musicians where just blagging – on some songs, as they did not know the progressions – which left the energy and night flat in most parts …’ It was nail biting and cringing at times.
Dull over singing and over playing, and over all an unimpressive atmosphere. I wish I did not bring my friends there. They did not like it one – bit. I felt uncomfortable – myself.
When amateurs run around like pros – the result you get is mediocre. And swearing on the mic repeatedly, is unnecessary; it’s really unprofessional and self sabotage – when trying to get people to have a good night, or stay.
They need this feed back to fix up.
