1. How are you today
MercyfulGrace, I’m blessed. I’m not letting the snow get to me. How are you?
2. What is the book about
HOW TO GET PAID MORE THAN YOUR BOSS – 7 SIMPLE STEPS TO ACQUIRING THAT FIRST-CLASS DREAM JOB Is about moving from the pause to the play button with regards to your career dreams. As well as being filled with golden nuggets, my career success story and riveting money facts, it contains my 7 Step F.A.S.T.E.S.T Dream Job Catcher System and W.R.A.P Interview Success System.
3. How long did it take to write and concieve
Well, the idea to write the book came to me around May last year (2017) when I was thinking about my true purpose and how I was not making much of a difference, working as a highly paid expert in the corporate world, helping organisations with large amounts of money make more money. I discovered that I was most interested in and satisfied by the corporate responsibility work which included me facilitating in Interview Workshops for the homeless. It took about two months to conjure up a structure that I was happy with and once I knew what direction I was going in, the rest of the book took about five months after that.
4. Do you have role model authors
Yes. Several, all role models for different reasons and in different ways … including Maya Angelou, Kwame Dawes, my Pastor, Matthew Ashimolowo, Dr Mike Murdock Robert Kiyosaki, Joyce Meyer, Mo Obadina, Vishal Morjaria, John Lees. The best poetry book that I have ever read was written by New York, Poet Chris Slaughter. This is the epitome of straight up poetry from the depths of the heart; keeping it real before ‘keeping real’ was a thing. I started this in 2000 and have still not finished because I don’t want to get to the point where there are no more poems left to discover from this great piece of art and literature.
5. What convicted you to write your book
The aversion to seeing people in pain. A lot of people in the workplace are hurting in one way or the other. This could be because they are spending too much time at work and their personal relationships are suffering or they are being paid too little to make ends meet at the end of the month. Or even perhaps, some know that they were supposed to be serving the world more, for example doing charitable works but cannot because they do not have the means. As mentioned earlier the book encompasses my story and in 2000, that’s what I did. I left one big financial institution and within two weeks was head hunted for another and tripled my income. So not only did I end up earning more than my boss, I also got paid more than his boss, who happened to be his brother by the way.
6. What’s your stance on organised religion versus spirituality
MercyfulGrace, I’m not here to talk about religion, I’m sure this interview was supposed to be about my book. <<she laughs>>
Basically, for me myself as a Christian, my faith is about having a relationship with Christ, not about religion. I believe that there is only one God and I believe in the Trinity; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I believe God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. That is my belief. What other people believe is very much to do with their stage in life and first-hand experiences I guess.
7. If you were God for a day what would you do
I am not, so I can’t answer that. The Bible says that we were made in the image of God.
8. Have you any major dreams
Yes. To cause a paradigm shift in as many minds as possible. I want to change people’s mindsets so that they can see that they do not need to live a mediocre life and that it is possible to even achieve their wildest dreams with simple, strategic planning.
9. Do you believe in the after life
Yes most definitely. I believe that we are all spiritual beings on a physical plain for a relatively short and finite time. I believe in the rapture. That is Jesus Christ coming back a second time for the saints.
10. Your ideal get away
Hot beach anywhere. … Or a cruise.
11. Your favourite song to chill out to and jive to
Do you mean Chill and Jive at the same time? No of course you can’t. No of course you can’t.
To chill to, amongst songs great soulful gospel artists and John Legend, I like Lukas Graham’s 7 Years – it has a great melody and the words are very inspirational … favourite line, “I only see my goals, I don’t believe in failure” … I always say, “Me too!” after that.after that.
Jive <<she laughs>> I don’t Jive, You mean shake two leg or shock out? I love afrobeats, I love clean hip hop and up-tempo Gospel. I love Spiritual Pieces Gospel Group, lots of gems on their albums to chill to and also dance to. … But if you started to play the 1988 hit “It takes Two”, I don’t think I would be able to stay in my seat. 12. Who would be your ideal reader
People that want to instigate the change that they have always wanted in their life and make more money
People that are being oppressed in the workplace
People that believe they cannot advance
People who are transitional entrepreneurs and need just one more job before breaking free
Intrapreneurs – entrepreneurs working for other people or organisations
13. How would you like to remembered
As the person who pushed you to strive for more and be more
14. Say a prayer for humanity
A prayer for humanity. … Said it!
Father in the name of Jesus, I ask you to intervene in each and everybody’s lives this evening, heal those who are sick, comfort the broken hearted, send down your supernatural provision for everyone who lacks. Put an end to the struggles of the homeless and jobless and help them to acquire resources, divine help and divine direction. Amen! Amen!
