So this week has been of a kind. Starting the weekend off with meeting; Hugh Grant. It’s like the universe has conspired to freak me out or something.
Then, it the other day, and yesterday after – bumping into Jermain Jackman – UK Voice Winner 2014, on the train.
So, I was chilling in Knightsbridge – and guess who walks in and takes to the mic. Mica Paris – OMG! And what a better way to end the night on. A classic, like Respect.
This lady of soul is one of UK’s finest. Oh my darling Jesus*…’ :: ’My One Temptation’ is enough to take you back back back ..’ for you newbies. You Tube that, then get it on iTunes, for your quint-essential soulful collections, if you are yearning for some great playlists.
Anyway – here are some shots captured from this impromptu adventure with Mica. Mica is so down to earth, beautiful; with a roaring Lioness voice out of her deepest thoughts, she belted ‘Respect’ to a standing ovation, while I could not believe; I was screaming along – as you do – when you are in awe of greatness.
Her voice is ferociously, powerful and effortlessly clean. She can sing for days ..’ A real soul power house – you can’t deny! UK NEEDS TO REPRESENT MORE± Make UK Soul Home Grown Talents Proud± :: wherever you are – globally and vice versa.
Lets shine the flag. Buy the records, tweet, about them playlist them and share their pages. It’s the only way. Quit burning and ripping – cc’s. Streaming is great but the artiste gets close to nothing. Go to their shows, tell a friend. Support and buy. Buy into them and their Art* ::
Help the artistes arrive so you too can derive the joyous satisfaction. Maybe the artiste in me gets this more than the average Joe. Non-the-less it’s a great great passion of mine, to champion – us all, along! What a way to begin a midweek respite. Lovely to meet you Mica Paris.
