MercyfulGrace Diaries with Yolanda Spivey – ‘On Jesse Williams’Posted: June 28, 2016
‘Woke up this morning honey and White people are mad as hell on that whole Jesse Williams speech. Now they are coining him a racist. You see this is the thing, white people think that just because the dogs and water hoses aren’t out, racism no longer exists. And just because we are no longer being lynched for the sport of it, racism doesn’t exist.
And just because they see us on television in fanciful roles, racism doesn’t exist. But let me ask those same white people this, how does your office look? Are there any Black people sitting around collecting a cheque like you? And if there are, what position do they hold? Are they the clerk although they may hold an MBA from Harvard?
How does their pay cheque look? I’m pretty sure it’s only 66% of what you’re making. Racism, as it always has been, is institutionalized. It’s a SYSTEM of oppression.
They have been living under this system for so long that they are not ready to give up their power in order to be truly equal with ALL people, not just Black people. Because ALL other groups are treated fucked up under the system of White oppression.
They love the fact that the system is not broken for them; it was built for them. But they hate the fact that someone has the audacity and the balls to talk against it– to challenge responses and sponsors.
I see all of these posts across my news feed stating that Jesse Williams used his “Light Skinned” privilege to say what so many others have been saying before him. I agree that the message resonated, especially with those who are concerned with the visual, HOWEVER, he did the most responsible thing ever with his large platform, and that’s call attention to racism.
I would say that 95% of the people sitting in that room with him are all afraid of losing their pay cheque’s if they ever spoke up the way he did. Those same mofo’s have left us in the dust although we are hurting and dying. Yet, we continue to support them.
Their silence aligns them with the enemy. We all know this, they know it too. But yet, they stay silent because their cheque is more important than your Black ass. Jesse Williams may or may not have a career after this, BUT, he has done what so many of our true greats have done in the past, and that’s to utilize their platforms to FORCE change’.
Thank you Yolonda ..’
God woke me up at 14:14 hrs today, from a strange dream of favours coming to pass, happening to someone, in my future, which overflowed on me too. I was there, wrestling with the meaning, thinking; you don’t wake up in time stamps of 7s like this without a purpose. Then I saw this timeline. And began to make sense.
Didn’t know why I hadn’t picked this up earlier, on here. I saw his message before, but didn’t realise; it had blown up, doing rounds.
Like one with foresights; I’d seen, envisioned and known many of these things for years, and to come. So seeing this now, its a dream come true.
They said I was delusional when I gave accounts of how organised white supremist’s were harassing me, systematically, socially, economically, and messing with my mental health. Who is delusional, now?
Never stops to amaze me, how they pull this wool over the eyes of some black people, over a few cheap pay cheques. Its funny how my publicist told me the other day; I’m not the only one. ‘Yolonda Spivey’ fans – had something to say too.
Opinions and Responses ..’
But you know something Yolanda Spivey, there needs to be some serious economic sanctions against institutionalised racism. The only person with a platform and voice that is calling for it is Minister Farrakhan. Sharpton is not doing, cause he’s a part of the problem now. J. Jackson is done.
No Rappers are gonna do it, cause that’s who is feeding them. The only real vocal Artist is David Banner, but even he is getting fed up. Its the people on the ground that need to unify and fight back against the beast. Jesse Williams made a plug, but its the people that needs to bring the charge. When are we really going to start boycotting? You know how much money people was paying to watch the NBA finals? I don’t respect these public figures that are on the fence about these things. This is why I adore Jesse Williams.
This mans consciousness is out of this world. If we could only have about 10 more celebrities like him, we would be making some serious noise. Its Summer, how bout we don’t visit any water parks? Say hell no to Disney Land/World? We are we so easily handing over our money to these vultures?
Ok. That’s funny, white people, not all, but some are utterly ridiculous in there thought process; but let’s just say for arguments sake that Jesse Williams is a racist.
He isn’t, but let’s just say, he is. This is where white people just don’t get it. He made his RACIST speech and then he went home. End of story. Yup that’s it.
Theres a BIG difference between being racist and SYSTEMIC RACISM. His speech affected NOT ONE WHITE PERSON or THERE CHILDREN OR THERE ECONOMIC GROWTH OR THERE EDUCATION OR THERE ABILITY TO OBTAIN WEALTH.
NOTHING. NADA. ZERO EFFECT, BUT!!!! – SYSTEMIC RACISM built by WHITE PEOPLE has a damaging and TANGIBLE effect on BLACK people with the type of education they receive. Mass incarceration, the judicial system promotions and hiring police brutality, racial profiling, gentrification, housing, even the DAM WATER, WE DRINK!!
STOP WITH THAT GARBAGE!! SYSTEMIC RACISM IS WAAAAAAAY MORE POWERFUL THAN ANY DAM SPEECH AT THE BET AWARDS. Oh yeah did I say his speech was NOT RACIST. MAN GO SOMEWHERE WIT DAT #TRUTH
Institutionalized racism in a system is evil and must not be tolerated by civilized society. In any event, put yourself on the receiving end. If you think people must pick up cotton for leadership is by example. If you are the type of people who always think, people must be whipped, then sometimes, when for instance the auditors, or inspectors, prove beyond reasonable doubt, you are also wrong; you must present yourself, for whipping – despite your social status in society, or you resign. Whether black or white, it doesn’t matter.
Thanks for all your comments. Could not sight them all but keep them coming. Remember. There’s nothing above love.
