Just one more point on this. Self Esteem, means having a sense of self worth. Now, God made man in his own image, (therefore we know our worth).
As for me and my house, We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are head and not tail and we shall eat the goodness of this land. Why? Because he that is in (us)/me, is greater than than he that is in the world. Therefore, the power that raised Christ from the dead, dwelleth, in me (us), so, I (we) have victory over darkness, hence, all power on earth and in heaven rests within me; makes my self esteem, pretty darn good – any day of the week! Thats his plan for me. Now, that’s the real me!
For the bible says – the truth, would set us free once we know it. Unless, you don’t know the truth – you would have no (sense of) self worth.
“Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” ::Luke 12:7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. ::1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. ::
God told us to be sons and daughters, not low self esteemed slaves. That’s why he brought the israelites out of Egypt. If we where enslaved, with low self-esteem, what would the reason for – taking up any – cross, be, in the first place.
Denying, the world of it’s ugliness, is celebration of self worth, and a jubilation of (a deeper) pride. Not by our works, but by knowing that the Love Of God has set us free – ‘Long Time’. Way before the prophets knew it, or could figure it.
As I said – ‘I am fearfully, and wonderfully made”. And I stand on the word, cuz those same very words, were there, from the beginning – of time. And time, has no ending, in the graces and of the Lord Our Father, who gave us that much, abundantly through Christ Jesus his son – ‘The King’. Emanuel.
This is not surprising why – some people think, praying from here till kingdom come, in public gatherings, or shouting from roof tops, wearing no makeup, being dowdy and not looking after ones-self, equates to serving God. No! Those are just test’s to see the making’s of our heart’s. God is a civilised God. Too smart for book.
God will test you, to use you, to bring you into fusion, into a new ending, with a brand new beginning. What are you waiting for? If you are waiting on precedents of those before – you are not ready. Cuz, that stuff, was their destiny. Not yours! Life is hard and even harder when you are in the public eye, with every one drumming up their own opinions around you, when they really have no clue, who you really are, inside.
On a personal note, you (the world) did not make me – so you can not break me. God made me and only he can (has the right to break me). If I’m aching or breaking – it’s not because of you. This is between me and my maker. Keep kidding yourself at it ultimately. Go head! If the world made me – I won’t be alive today. Testament to the power of God, rested in me! Amen. I keep finding myself saying, Jesus is the Son of God, lately. Maybe, that’s why. Figures!
Hate to reiterate – Self denial to the world is one thing ..’ But self denial to Christ is not low self esteem. We are called to rejoice in the victory Jesus achieved by laying it all out on the cross at calvary. Following Christ does mean we need to have no self worth. I know my worth because I’m heir to the kingdom of God. That makes me a prince. My dad is king. On earth and in heaven.
